Students from Cagliari in New York, USA: A Journey Through Culture, History, and Emigration

In 2022, five students from Convitto Vittorio Emanuele II participated in "History and Memories," which took them to New York. During their stay, they visited the city's most famous landmarks, such as Times Square, the MoMA, and the Statue of Liberty. Ellis Island, a symbol of the migratory flow to the United States, was an important stop on their journey. They also interviewed prominent figures of Italian descent, sharing stories about the migratory phenomenon and strengthening cultural ties between Italy and the United States. The experience concluded with memorable encounters and moments that left a profound impact on the participants.

  • Period: July 9 to July 30, 2022.
  • Participants included students Valentina Gannau, Carlo Moi, Davide Muntoni, Giulia Serrau, and Asia Tanda, accompanied by professors Lucia Cossu and Graziano Napolitano.
